This tumor is thought to arise from mesenchyme. It may occur in a variety of places, including brain, soft tissue, periosteom, liver, kidney, the orbit, and the nasopharynx. Extrapleural solitary fibrous tumors may arise in a variety of locations, including head and neck, abdomen, extremities, and bone. The tumor may have an indolent couse.
It usually presents with pain and the recurring lesions.
